Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme originated on The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a different bookish topic. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books for Readers Who Like _____.
I’m a big fan of historical fiction so I decided to do that for this week’s post.
- The Lady of the Rivers by Philippa Gregory
- Serena by Ron Rash
- Girl With A Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier
- The Autobiography of Henry VIII by Margaret George
- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
- Atonement by Ian McEwan
- Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier
- The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
- The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
- The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
If you’re a fan of historical fiction, what would be your top ten?
I loved reading both Outlander and The Poisonwood Bible… I didn’t enjoy reading The Reader so much. Here’s my link to my TTT post for the week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2015/03/top-ten-tuesday-ten-books-for-readers.html

I used to read so much historical fiction a few years back. I definitely need to read some more soon! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Outlander; it sounds so interesting. Margaret George is my favourite historical fiction author. I absolutely adore her Cleopatra and Helen of Troy books. So so good! Great pick this week 🙂

I picked up a copy of her Cleopatra book a few months back but haven’t had the chance to read it yet. I also have her Mary Queen of Scots book too. 🙂

I see Philippa Gregory all the time, but haven’t tried out the author yet.

I like most books by Tracie Chevalier, and I liked both The Reader and Outlander. Do you know Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet? That was a really good one. And All the Light We Cannot See, too.

I really enjoyed The Things They Carried in high school. I saw the movie Atonement, but I thought it’d be better as a book. It’s definitely on my TBR list!
