I got something awesome in the mail today! My new Kindle has arrived! I was lucky enough to snag a cheap one on Amazon’s Prime Day this past Wednesday. I have been wanting to get a regular Kindle for awhile now. I already have the Kindle Fire HD but that thing has some crazy glare on it. And it functions better as a tablet than an e-reader. I was originally going to save up for the Kindle Paperwhite but when I saw this, it was a deal I couldn’t refuse!
Enzo is just about as excited as I am about it! Haha 🙂
And they had Kindle accessories on sale too so I got this awesome looking cover for it!
Then it was time to plug it in and turn it on. The screen looks great and I can’t wait to get to my e-books now!
I decided to do a side-by-side comparison with my Kindle Fire to see just how big a difference there was when it came to the glare.
I had my back to our closed curtains in our living room and there was still a huge glare on the Fire. But now I don’t have to worry about that because I have my new Kindle with zero glare! Although nothing beats a physical book, I still love having access to e-books.
In other news, I am spending my night now watching Serena which is based on the novel of the same name by Ron Rash, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
I have been waiting so long to watch this because I really enjoyed the book. I was going to get it at Redbox but completely forgot but luckily Netflix has it! I’m a little nervous because it isn’t getting the best reviews.
What are you up to on this Friday night?
Laundry and watching The Following! Love the new Kindle 🙂

Let me know what you think of Serena! I liked the book as well but haven’t seen the movie yet!

The movie was okay, not horrible but not great. Another score for the book being better than the movie. I don’t regret watching it but I don’t know if I’ll ever watch it again. There are quite a few sex scenes if you are sensitive to that.

Love your Kindle! I’ve been wanting to get a kindle. I usually read my e-books on my iPad and my iPhone with the Kindle app, but it’s totally killing my eyes! I’m about 95% sure that’s why I have to wear glasses now!

Yeah! I usually read my ebooks on the Kindle app on my phone or the Fire which is basically another computer screen. After spending a few hours reading on the Kindle, my eyes don’t hurt at all! It’s awesome!

After spending time reading on my iPhone or my iPad, I can’t see anything! Everything around me is so blurry that I have to get my glasses. It’s insane! I definitely want to get a kindle soon! I don’t want to wreck my eyes worse. I work in front of a computer all day as part of my job too, so I’m constantly staring at screens and bright lights! Not good!

Me too!! At work I have to keep my computer screen dimmed way down or I end up with a headache every day. I think it will definitely help you to get a Kindle 🙂

Yay, congrats on the new Kindle!! I have a Fire and a Paperwhite, and there’s no doubt that the glare on the Fire is horrible for reading. I never read on my Fire because of it. I’m glad you got such a great deal! Enjoy it!!

Thanks! I spent quite a bit of time reading on it last night and it was great not having the glare or feel of staring at a computer screen. It felt so much better for my eyes.

Enjoy your new Kindle! I have an older model, and I love it. The glare issue is a biggie for me, which is why I keep going back to my Kindle rather than reading on my tablet. Easy on the eyes!
