WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words.
Each week we answer the following three questions:
-What have you recently finished reading?
-What are you currently reading?
-What are you reading next?
It’s been two weeks since my last WWW Wednesday post. Since then I finally finished the Kindle edition of Legend by Marie Lu. It was good but didn’t blow me away. I much prefered The Young Elites over this book. Then to start off my Halloweeny TBR, I did a re-read of The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich with my finalized physical copy (which is awesome!) And I recently signed up for a free 90 day trial of Audible so I proceeded to get as many Outlander books as I could. I have all of the Kindle editions (in addition to physical) so I got SUPER discounted copies of most of them. Then with my 3 free credits I will be getting the ones I couldn’t get discounted. I LOVED the woman who narrated Outlander. Her voice fits the story perfectly in my opinion.
My 2nd book from my Halloweeny TBR is ‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. It’s pretty slow moving and I’ve pretty much lost interest in it. I’m not quite ready to DNF it though. I’m also listening to Dragonfly in Amber. Seriously love the narrator. And thank god she’s the same one for the entire series. I’ve only physically read through Drums in Autumn (book 4) so I want to listen to the audiobooks as a refresher before moving on to read The Fiery Cross (book 5). And I am reading Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer, which is the gender-swapped retelling of Twilight. So many people are giving it bad reviews and so I wanted to read it to make my own opinion before it is colored by everyone else’s. I’m nearly done, will probably be finishing it later today. In my review I will also be including a list of the characters from Twilight and what their new names are in L&D.
I’m still not quite sure what I want to read next from my Halloweeny TBR. It will probably be this one because it is SO long, I need the extra time to read it. Hopefully I’ll have plenty of time to read this weekend since Ethan is sick.
And now for a check-up on my Halloweeny TBW! I have added a few to my list because I’ve made it through more than I thought I would this early in the month.
My TBW includes:
- Hocus Pocus (witches) – saving for Halloween day
- The Craft (witches)
I Know What You Did Last Summer (slasher)I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (slasher)- The Crazies (zombies)
Scream 1-4 (slasher)- World War Z (zombies)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (slasher)- Practical Magic (witches)
- Halloween (slasher)
- True Blood (vampires, witches, werewolves) – Continually watching after work as I clean and do other things
- Bram Stoker’s Dracula
I am halfway through The Dead House and it’s SO addicting. The shortened chapters make it really hard to put it down. I had to make myself last night so I could go to bed. Or I probably would’ve stayed up all night. It’s really good. Dying to know what’s really going on!! Since I’m so far along in it, I think I’m going to focus on finishing it before starting the new Nicholas Sparks book. Although it is really hard for me not to drop everything right now to read it!
I bought a copy of Life and Death over the weekend. Very anxious to hear your thoughts. If I don’t read it, I at least had to own the hardback of it anyway for my collection. I really do want to try it though, but it makes me nervous.
I hope you get lots of reading done this weekend!

Yay! So glad you’re really liking The Dead House. The short chapters definitely make it hard to put down lol. Life and Death… I’m almost done and still don’t really have an opinion on it yet. It’s obviously a retelling but it feels different and not as magical as Twilight felt to me.

I have just finished reading Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson and Airs Above the Ground by Mary Stewart. I am no continuing my R.I.P reading with The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle.
I am pleased to see you are flying through your TBW list and you’ve had to add more. I really enjoyed World War Z and Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a classic 🙂

I saw World War Z in theaters but haven’t watched it since. I love Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

I’ve really been wanting to read Legend and The Young Elites. I bought The Young Elites at the beginning of this year. I really need to read it!
I haven’t watched any of my Halloween movies yet. Hopefully I’ll find some time to watch them soon.

The Young Elites was awesome! Legend was just kind of eh for me. Tonight I’ll be watching Halloween as a part of Jess Witkins’ #ScreamingScreening (see the bottom of this post https://jesswitkins.wordpress.com/2015/10/12/9-things-that-make-me-anxious-and-3-things-that-are-fun/ )

And of course I totally forgot about it last night until she tweeted me and it was too late for me to start it. Lol oops.

It’s interesting to hear you prefered The Young Elites over Legend, because I haven’t read that one yet and I wasn’t blown away by Legend either. I might just have to read Young Elites first before I continue the series… And I really need to get a copy of The Dead House ASAP.
Happy Wednesday! Here’s my WWW.

The Young Elites was awesome! You should definitely read it. I could not connect with Legend so I probably won’t continue that series.

I will definitely put it on my November TBR then! Legend was ok, but there are other series I want to continue first before I pick up the sequel.
