Shelf Control – February 11,2016

Shelf Control

Shelf Control is a weekly feature hosted by Bookshelf Fantasies.  Consider this a variation of a Wishing & Waiting post… but looking at books already available.  Take a look at your shelves and/or Kindle and post about a book you own but haven’t read yet.

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Shelf Control post!  Things have been crazy lately so I haven’t had a lot of extra time for blogging.  But I’m coming back today with a book that has been on my TBR for what seems like FOREVER!

Author:  Brandon Sanderson
Published: Published July 31st 2007 by Tor Fantasy (first published July 25th 2006)
Length: 643 Pages

Goodreads Summary: Once, a hero arose to save the world. A young man with a mysterious heritage courageously challenged the darkness that strangled the land.

He failed.

For a thousand years since, the world has been a wasteland of ash and mist ruled by the immortal emperor known as the Lord Ruler. Every revolt has failed miserably.

Yet somehow, hope survives. Hope that dares to dream of ending the empire and even the Lord Ruler himself. A new kind of uprising is being planned, one built around the ultimate caper, one that depends on the cunning of a brilliant criminal mastermind and the determination of an unlikely heroine, a street urchin who must learn to master Allomancy, the power of a Mistborn.

How I Got It: I bought the boxed trilogy boxed set.

When I Got It: At least 1 year ago, probably more.

Why I Want To Read It: I have yet to read a book written solely by Brandon Sanderson.  He was brought to my attention when he completed the last few books of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan after Jordan’s death.  It is one of my favorite series of all time and he did a fantastic job of finishing the series so I’ve been wanting to read his solo works for awhile but just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
