Month In Review: April 2016

April was a HUGE audiobook month for me.  I’ve been listening to them everyday, all day at work so I’ve managed to get through a lot.  At home I haven’t been reading as much so the physical books I read kind of took a hit this month.  I also checked out an ebook from the library that was 800+ pages so that took awhile to get through.  I did a pretty horrible job about sticking to my April TBR.  I think I’m officially done with making a monthly TBR.  I’ve been more in the mood to just grab a book at random and start reading.  Especially after my enormous April book haul!  There are a few books that I absolutely want to read this month but it’s not worth putting together a monthly TBR for it.

# Books Read in April: 21 (including 15 audiobooks)

# Books Read in 2016: 60

# Books Towards Goodreads Goal: 60/110

# Books Read for 2016 Read My Books in April: 3

# Books Read for 2016 Read My Books YTD: 21/60

Here are the books that I read this month (Bolded titles are for 2016 Read My Books Challenge):

  18. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling (audiobook re-read)
  19. The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
  20. Locke & Key by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez (audiobook)
  21. Dark Witch by Nora Roberts (audiobook re-read)

Best Book Read – This month I had a 4-way tie for the best book.

20443235  29610595  22816087  17347389

Worst Book Read – I think this one just did not translate well to audiobook.  I think the original graphic novel would be something I would still be interested in reading.  Just didn’t work in audio format.

How was your month of reading?

  1. Great month, Maren! I had a good month too and also thanks to audio books.
Monthly TBRs, totally agree – and to think, some people plan months in advance. I always have two or three group reads which are set, but the rest is totally subject to change.

  2. Wow, 21 books read (including 15 audiobooks)… is amazing! I really want to get the Harry Potter audiobooks read by Stephen Fry 🙂 I had an average month for me, reading 4 books and my favourite has to be science-fiction drama The Martian by Andy Weir. I hope you have a happy May 🙂

  3. Such an awesome month!! I really envy the fact you get to listen to audiobooks at work. I wish I could, but my job is too distracting and I get interrupted most of the day (I’m an admin assistant).

    • I know exactly what you mean. I can only listen to books I’ve already read in print otherwise I miss too much. I get interrupted a lot at my job too. Even when I’m not working I can only do audiobooks that I’ve read in print because my mind is so easily distracted lol.
