Shelf Control is a weekly feature from Bookshelf Fantasies! The goal is to take a look at the books that are already released that you own but have not read yet. I have MANY that fall under that category so this feature is perfect for me. Check out Lisa’s inaugural post for more details!
Title: The Innocents
Author: Francesca Segal
Published: Published June 5th 2012 by Hachette Books (first published January 1st 2012)
Length: 288 Pages
Goodreads Summary: What if everything you’d ever wanted was no longer enough?
Adam and Rachel are getting married at last. Childhood sweethearts whose lives and families have been intertwined for years; theirs is set to be the wedding of the year.
But then Rachel’s cousin Ellie makes an unexpected return to the family fold. Beautiful, reckless and troubled, Ellie represents everything that Adam has tried all his life to avoid – and everything that is missing from his world. As the long-awaited wedding approaches, Adam is torn between duty and temptation, security and freedom, and must make a choice that will break either one heart, or many.
How I Got It: I bought it from Barnes & Noble’s bargain section.
When I Got It: December 2014
Why I Want To Read It: I love the cover and the summary sounds like a few movies that I’ve seen that I’ve really enjoyed watching so I thought it would be fun to read this one.
Have any of you read this book? What did you think of it?
I love the cover, and it sounds like a book I would read! I wonder if the ratings for it are good? I’d be willing to try it!

Looks like a lot of mixed reviews with an average of 3.16 so I guess it could go either way lol.

Yeah, I try to stick with books closer to 4 stars, so in this case I probably wouldn’t try it. Not when I have so many others to read. 🙂

I agree. I may just end up pulling this off my shelf and donating it. Not worth the effort and time to read a book when there are so many others with more potential.

Gorgeous cover, and it does sound interesting! I feel like I’ve come across this author before, but I don’t think I’ve read anything by her. I’ll have to go look her up on Goodreads.
