Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic and this week’s topic is: Top Ten Best Books Of 2016 (you choose — best books overall of what you read regardless of pub date, of a particular genre, 2016 debuts, 2016 releases, etc)
I decided to go with the top ten 2016 releases, well at least the ones I have read anyways. There were many that I didn’t get a chance to read yet that I’ll be reading next year. I rated all of these 5 stars so they were among my favorites of all the books that I read this year.
-
Truthwitch by Susan Dennard
-
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
-
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
-
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
-
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
-
The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson
-
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
-
The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye
-
The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
-
The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski
What were some of your favorite 2016 releases?

Yeeeeeeeeeee Serpent King! By the looks of it, you must have had a really great first half of the year in reading (assuming you read them immediately after its release).
Cheers,

Most of them I read shortly after they were released. I got to read The Serpent King before release and it is definitely one of my favorites now.

I need to read The Serpent King! I got a copy for my Kindle when it was on sale. Loved Salt to the Sea and It Ends With US. 🙂

The only book on here I’ve read is It Ends With Us. 😦 A lot of them are on my TBR, though. I need to make sure to read them in 2017 — especially The Serpent King. Great list!

Marie’s series is one I’ve intended to read since I first saw the beautiful cover. Now, the only good thing about not having read it (yet) is that I can now marathon the series! 🙂

I loved Salt to the Sea! I’ve now read all of Ruta Sepetys’ books and I love them all. She’s definitely a fantastic writer. The only other one of these that I read was Truthwitch which I unfortunately really didn’t enjoy, haha. A few of the others on this list are on my TBR though. Maybe one of these days I’ll actually get to them, haha.
Here’s my TTT if you’re interested and haven’t seen it yet: https://kourtnireads.wordpress.com/2016/12/27/top-ten-books-of-2016/

Loved ACOMAF and The Raven King! I still need to read The Winner’s Crime but I’m glad to know that Kiss is so good!

Thank you! Those were both excellent books. I’m definitely excited to read more of Ruta Sepetys’ books in the future. I have Between Shades of Grey and recently acquired Out of the Easy as well so I’m all set to read more of her writing.
Happy New Year!
