About

Hi!  I’m Maren!  For as long as I can remember, I have had a love for books.  The stories, the characters, the feel of the pages, and the smell…  Gets me every time.  Walking in to a book store or library is one of the best feelings in the world.  Breathe in the smell, take in the sight of shelves and shelves of books…  My paradise.

Other than my love for books, I also enjoy watching movies and TV shows, going to concerts, hiking, photography and just being with my friends and family.

  8. Hello Marren,
My name is Sean Anderson. My literary fiction work is titled “The Year of Oceans”, and is available through Sulis International Press. It is approximately 120,000 words in length, or 353 pages. It is available here:

    Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Year-Oceans-Sean-Anderson/dp/1946849170/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537043493&sr=8-1&keywords=the+year+of+oceans

Synopsis: “Hugo Larson is a retired accountant living in North Seattle. Having recently lost the person most important to him, he attempts to make a life for himself in spite of that gaping absence. While he spends his time swimming, gardening, and accomplishing the mundane tasks of everyday life, he also has several important relationships to manage. Adrian is Hugo’s caring but foolish son, a young man desperately in need of career guidance. Hugo’s brother, Martin, brims with positive energy and a life many would envy: a kind wife, an illustrious teaching career, and a darling granddaughter—but at the implications of retiring. Then there is Paul, a serene next-door neighbor and friend who is haunted by his own loss, who goes on adventures with Hugo through the city. Despite all this, Hugo faces the heaviness of existence, confronts towering questions, embraces and then pushes away those close to him. Through the course of one year, he faces his past, struggles with the present, and questions the future. What waits for Hugo at the end of that year?”

This is a novel that addresses universal human concerns: What happens after death? What does it mean to live a full life? How could a loving God allow unspeakable tragedy to befall an individual? As described above, the novel follows one man’s journey through the grieving process, from despair to acceptance, and I believe it is a story that a lot of people can connect to.

Please let me know if you need any more information. I hope to hear from you.
    All the best,
    Sean Anderson

  9. Hi Maren,

I enjoy your reviews and wanted to offer my own novel for your review consideration. The Confessor’s Wife is historical fiction, and takes place in Eleventh Century England. It’s about Edith of Wessex, wife to King Edward the Confessor. Daughter to a powerful earl, wife to a king, sister to another king, Edith’s story has only been told in the footnotes of THEIR history, Until now. CW has all the elements you’d expect in the Anglo Saxon court: family loyalty, treason, intrigue, murder – and Edith is in the centre of it.

I look forward to hearing from you if you feel this might be of interest!

    Yours faithfully,

    Kelly Evans

  11. Hi! My name is James Carlson and I’m an author from Pennsylvania. One of my short stories was published in Breaking Rules Publishing’s Horror anthology a few months ago. My story, ‘Thirteen with Wings,’ isn’t exactly horror, though; it’s more contemporary lit meets light fantasy. If you’re interested in the entire anthology, it is available for free to Kindle users: https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Rules-Publishing-Short-Project-ebook/dp/B0837Y4VVG/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=breaking+rules+publishing+short+story+book+project+-+horror&qid=1583423254&sr=8-1 Otherwise, I’d be happy to send you a PDF of my story. Thanks!
