This year I thought it would be really fun to keep track of the settings where the books I read take place. I want to make more of an effort to read books taking place in other countries and cultures. I think it’s becoming more and more vital that people really expand their horizons and open up their minds to new things. What better way than books? Books give you a chance to experience other cultures that you may never get the chance to experience in real life.
I will be using the place that the majority of the book takes place in. For example, Between Shades of Gray starts out in Lithuania but the majority of the book takes place in Siberia so I will count that one as Siberia, Russia. For each book I read, I will be placing a pin on my Google Map. I will be including a recap in my month end review posts and at the end of the year I will do a full recap post.
Goals:
• Read books from at least 10 different countries. I’m going to give each new country a new pin color to make them easier to see when zoomed out.
• Read books from at least 15 different states in the US.
