Halloween TBR

Happy October everyone! I absolutely love this time of year. Everything about fall is fantastic to me. One of my favorite things to do is to pick out some spooky and thrilling books to read all month long. I’m not so great at following through with my TBRs but I am most successful with my Halloween TBRs. I think I’ve picked some really great books, including a couple I don’t have in hand yet.

I have a couple other books that I will also be reading this month that I am super excited about:

What books do you plan to read this month?

Happy October! One of my favorite months of the year! Autumn is my absolute favorite season and I love choosing my reads to fit the mood of this time of year. I am really excited about the books I’ve chosen to read this month, especially after getting hardly any time to read during September. I am ready to go!

First off, I plan to read Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. It releases tomorrow! I am completely obsessed with the first book, Strange the Dreamer, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the sequel. The title does kind of fit the theme for the month, too. The rest of the books I have chosen for the month all fit perfectly into the Halloweenie theme. Ghosts, witches, vampires, etc.

There they are! And how cute are the Hocus Pocus Funkos?! I could not resist getting them! I watch Hocus Pocus annually around this time of year so I’m very excited to watch it, read it, and have these little guys. I LOVE that they even included Mary’s vacuum and Winifred’s classic mouth.

Have you read any of the books in my stack? What do you plan to read this month?

www-wednesdayWWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words.
Each week we answer the following three questions:
-What have you recently finished reading?
-What are you currently reading?
-What are you reading next?

I have had a much better reading month so far!  I’ve been reading everyday and am making excellent progress on my October Halloween themed TBR.  I’ve already read more than double what I read last month.  Also, on Saturday I will be participating in Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon. In case you missed my post on that yesterday, check it out here.

In the past week I have finished 4 books.  I really enjoyed all but The Merciless.  I was hoping for some good spooky witchy stuff but it was really just some crazy girls attempting exorcisms with lots of graphic violence.  I actually just finished Blood and Salt this morning.

Currently I am finishing up my audio reread of Linger by Maggie Stiefvater.  It’s pretty good.  I love that they have different narrators for each of the main characters.  On my lunch break today I will be starting Nightfall.  I’m really excited to read this because it sounds really creepy!

Up next I will just be continuing to work through my Halloween themed TBR.  You can see the books I have left to read here.

Wow! It has been awhile since my last WWW post!  September was a pretty big slump month for me so I didn’t read a lot.  This month seems to be going a lot better so far though!

In the last week I finished up three books.  Bury the Living is a book I received for participating in the blog tour (stay tuned for my post on the 21st!).  I also finished The Grownup one evening.  There were a couple creepy moments but kind of hard to get anything past that because of how short the story is.  I also am continuing my way through the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries so yesterday I just finished up book 4: The Julius House.  I definitely enjoyed that one more than books 2&3.

Currently I have put Stones from the River on hold because it doesn’t really fit the theme for the month and I’ve been having a hard time getting through it anyways.  I’m also in the middle of an audiobook re-read of The Wolves of Mercy Falls series so I’m part way through Linger.  Yesterday I started reading Asylum and I am already 2/3 way through it!  I love the creepy vibes.

Up next I’m not quite sure what I will choose to read.  I have lots of good books to choose from for my October TBR.  After Asylum I will have only read 3 of these so far.  I think I might go with The Merciless but we will see what I think after I finish Asylum.  What would be your vote for my next read?

October TBR

foggy-545838_1920I am very excited about the selection of books I have put together for my Halloween themed TBR!  I put together quite a few books to give me some options.  I will probably be starting with Shutter so that I have plenty of time to read and review it for the blog tour that I’m on for it.  After I finish that one, I’ll just see which of these I am more in the mood for. My plan is to read Slasher Girls & Monster Boys one story at a time in between the other books.
