Top Ten Authors I’ve Read The Most

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  Each week there is a new topic and this week’s topic is:  Top Ten Authors I’ve Read The Most Books From

Robert Jordan – 16 books

These books were all a part of The Wheel of Time series which is one of my absolute favorites!

Nicholas Sparks – 16 books

I grew up reading and collecting these with my mom.

Charlaine Harris – 15

All of the books I have read of hers are from the Sookie Stackhouse series.  Although the end of the series was not my favorite, I’ll still love these books forever.

Janette Oke – 14 books

Another group of books I grew up reading with my mom.  I’m not into Christian Fiction anymore but her books were a big part of my childhood so they’ll stay with me forever as well.

Valerie Tripp – 13 books

She is the author of a few of the American Girls series.  I’ve read all of the Molly and Felicity books plus one of the Josephina series.

Laura Ingalls Wilder – 9 books

Another series of books that was a huge part of my childhood.  I’ve been in the mood to reread these lately.

Jane Austen – 8 books

She being my favorite author, I clamor to get my hands on anything and everything Jane Austen.  I’ve read her 6 full novels plus The Watsons, Sanditon, and Lady Susan.

L.M. Montgomery – 8 books

Yet another series that has had an impact on my childhood and my entire life.  Anne Shirley will always be a kindred spirit and bosom friend to me.

J.K. Rowling – 8 books

I first fell in love with Rowling with Harry Potter, as everyone else.  Along with The Casual Vacancy, I just love her writing.

L.J. Smith – 7 books

I have always had an interest in vampires so I finally read The Vampire Diaries books in the last year or two.

So those are the top ten authors I’ve read the most books from.  Were any of these authors on your lists this week?  Who are some of the authors you’ve read the most books from?

30 Day Book Challenge – Day 27

30 Day Book Challenge

Day 27: A book you wish you could live in

Yes!  I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time!  I love envisioning what my life would be like if I lived in the world these books are set.  I’m sure many people do.  I love it so much that I’m also using the same world for my other blog’s movie challenge which is the same question but with a movie instead of a book.

Since the beginning I’ve been a huge Harry Potter fan.  I fell in love with the books and when the movies started coming out, I fell in love with those as well.  Even though it is basically the world we currently live in but with magic present, this is what I would pick for this question every time.  I love all of the places like The Leaky Cauldron, Platform 9 3/4, the Hogwarts Express, Hogwarts itself, Hogsmeade, etc.  Going to school at Hogwarts would have been so much more interesting than anything else our muggle schools have to offer!  Can you imagine having a gentle, half-giant named Hagrid teaching you about the care of magical creatures?  Or being on your house’s Quidditch team?!  What could be better?  Of course you’d have to deal with the pesky issue of Voldemort but that’s okay!  I love the world that J.K. Rowling has created in this series and want more than anything for it to be real!

30 Day Book Challenge – Day 2

30 Day Book ChallengeDay 2: Your favorite book series

There are several book series that I love so this one was kind of tough to choose just one.  Among some of my favorites are The Wheel of Time, The Lord of the Rings, Sookie Stackhouse, Divergent and The Hunger Games.  But there is one series  that stands above the rest.

Almost everybody in the world knows about Harry Potter so I don’t feel the need to go into too much detail.  The reason that it is my favorite series is because I grew up reading it.  The first book was released in the US in 1998.  I was in middle school at the time.  My brother (who is 4 years younger than me) and I had to share our copies of the books.  We fought constantly about who got to read them first.  And my brother is not a big one for reading books.  I always feel comforted when reading Harry Potter, and even watching the movies.  It is very easy for me to get lost in the books and want to just keep going and going and going, etc.

What is your favorite book series?
