It’s been a really long time since I’ve done a WWW Wednesday! This year has been so crazy and everything feels like it’s topsy turvy. All of my blog posts lately have been book reviews which is so weird for me! It’s been fun though because I have been reading some pretty good books including a new favorite that will be featured in today’s post.

  • Fable by Adrienne Young – This novel was absolutely incredible. I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of it and I loved every second of it. I preordered a finished copy and also preordered the sequel which is due to be published in March! Check out my review here!
  • Teen Titans: Beast Boy by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo: Another advance copy that I ended up really loving! A super fun graphic novel of Beast Boy’s origin story. Definitely left me wanting more. Check out my review as well as a book trailer and sneak peak here!

  • The Lost Queen by Signe Pike – The tagline for this book, not to mention the cover, had me totally hooked. “Outlander meets Camelot…” yep, I am there for it. I’m not too far into this but so far I am really liking it. I love the setting and the characters are definitely growing on me.

  • The Forgotten Kingdom by Signe Pike – The sequel to The Lost Queen. I have an eARC of this and it publishes on September 13th so I definitely want to dive right in after I finish The Lost Queen. Really looking forward to this one!

As far as anything else, I’m not really sure. These are both fairly dense books so I think they will pretty much take my entire focus over the next week or so. We will see though.

Another slow month of reading so far. We’ve been working on a lot of projects around the house again so I haven’t had as much time to read outside of my lunch breaks. I’ve had some review copies piling up so I’ve mostly been working my way through those.

We Were Killers Once by Becky Masterman was a great thriller where the author explored a what-if scenario about the murders Truman Capote wrote about in In Cold Blood.  I just finished Mrs. Everything on Sunday and really enjoyed it. Lots of feels so prepare yourself.

I have a few on hold that I’ve been in the middle of for awhile but I haven’t been actively reading them for weeks (or months… oops). I am currently in the middle of The Summer Country by Lauren Willig. I got a finished copy from the publisher for review after loving her last book, The English Wife. I’m really enjoying this one even though I’m not very far into it yet. I have been reading way more historical fiction this year than I have the last couple of years so it’s fitting in perfectly with my mood.

The next two review copies on my list to read are Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa and Lock Every Door by Riley Sager.  Soul of the Sword is the sequel to The Shadow of the Fox, which was a 5 star read for me last year so I’m really excited to read this one.  Lock Every Door will be my first book by Riley Sager but I’ve heard great things about her previous books and I’ve also been really into mystery/thrillers this year.  I’ll probably start off with Soul of the Sword since that one publishes next week.

Okay, first of all… Who else uses WordPress and HATES the new editor?! Ugh. Why do they have to keep changing it?!

Anyways… I’ve been in a little bit of a slump lately so I haven’t finished any books in the last week so I’m going to skip the recently finished portion.

Currently I am in the middle of four books. Two of them are re-reads that I’m reading with people who are reading the books for the first time. One is one I’ve been in the middle of since last year (novella collection). And the fourth is an eARC that I am struggling with. I’ve been alternating The Fiery Cross, Lord John, and The Great Hunt at home. On my lunch breaks I’ve been reading Prairie Fever.

I’ve had these two books on digital hold at my library forever and they finally came in this week. I’m going to try and be patient and finish Prairie Fever first before I start Still Me but we’ll see how that goes. I’ve heard great things about Once Upon A River so I’m pretty excited to finally get to read that one soon.

Wow! It has been a LONG time since I last posted for WWW Wednesday! March has been a little bit of a slow reading month for me. I’m in the middle of two massive books so they’re both taking up quite a bit of my time.

I took a break on Sunday and read two graphic novels. I’m a huge fan of the show True Blood and the books it is based on, the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. The graphic novels aren’t exactly the greatest but they are entertaining enough to hold my interest. I read volumes 2 & 3.

Massive book # 1 that I am reading is actually a re-read of The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon. It is the 5th book in the Outlander series. It’s my third time re-reading it. Each time I re-read the books in this series I like to read from a different edition so this time I’m reading this UK mass market edition.

Massive book # 2 that I’m reading is The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. It was one of my most anticipated releases of 2019 and so far it is fantastic. I feel as if I’ve barely scratched the surface though. Things are really starting to pick up where I am at in the book.

I’m not exactly sure what I will read next. It will depend a lot on how I feel after finishing the two I’m reading now. But I still need to fit in two of my #UnreadBOTMChallenge books in so it will probably two from that stack. I also won’t have much time left on my goal to visit the library at least once per quarter so maybe I’ll go this weekend and fit in a library book as well.

I really LOVED both of these books! Uprooted was really imaginative while also feeling like a classic fantasy. All Your Perfects was another great one that just solidifies my love for Colleen Hoover even further. I laughed, I cried… I stayed up late to finish it.

I’m still in the middle of the second novella in Lord John and the Hand of Devils. I’ve set it off to the side for now because I’m a little bored with it.  On Monday I started reading Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. I have never read one these two have written together before but LOVE Amie’s series with Jay Kristoff. I haven’t gotten very far into it yet but so far it’s pretty good.

I’m not exactly sure what I want to read next but these two are high on my list. They are both on my July TBR and since the month is almost coming to a close I want to try and read at least one more from the list.
