September Book Haul

Book Haul

Another month where I went a little overboard on the book buying.  I was trying so hard to be good but Book Outlet was getting a lot of great books that I’ve been wanting for a long time.  I also had a couple of preorders and a trip to Mall of America resulted in a Barnes & Noble purchase.  I’m really excited about all of the books I got this month.

Starting off with my preorders… I was really excited to find out about Good Choice Reading’s virtual signing for Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas! I was able to get a personalized copy and it was also the special Barnes & Noble edition that has fan art on the end papers.

I also preordered Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo!  I am in love with the red edges on the pages and the awesome preorder swag.

My last preorder was from Barnes & Noble. I found out they were going to be publishing The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan as one of their special collector’s edition books and I knew I had to have it for my Wheel of Time collection.  It is gorgeous! I’m so in love with it.  The cover is beautiful and it has gold edged pages.

The other day I was at Mall of America to meet a friend from out of state and I couldn’t resist stopping in at Barnes & Noble.  I got After You by Jojo Moyes and Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati.  I really loved Me Before you so I’m looking forward to reading After You to see what Louisa Clark is up to.  Into the Wilderness was in the staff recommendation section with a note saying “ATTN Outlander Fans!”  That definitely caught my attention so I’m really excited to read that one.

After I dropped my friend off at her hotel I stopped by Half Price Books on the way home.  I didn’t find what I was looking for but I did end up buying two other books.  I’ve had In A Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware on my wishlist for awhile. I’ve heard great things about The Passage by Justin Cronin and it was in the clearance section for only $3 so I couldn’t pass that up.

One of the arcs I have on NetGalley I realized is actually book 9 in a series and I hadn’t read the first 1-8 so I found a cheap set of the books on eBay and started reading those so I can read and review book 9.

I am going to be a part of the blog tour for Shutter by Laurie Faria Stolarz so I received my arc this month.  It sounds like a really good book so I’m looking forward to reading it.

I renewed my OwlCrate subscription specifically because of the September theme and because I was about 85% certain I knew which book would be included which was one I really, really wanted.  I was right! And I loved everything in the box.

And now for the majority of my haul…. BOOK OUTLET. I ordered a lot from Book Outlet this month.  I couldn’t restrain myself.

And that is it for my September book haul!  Because this month’s haul was so large, October will definitely be a light month with the exception of a few preorders.

  1. And there they are! (the Aurora Teagarden books)
I was fascinated and very impressed by the premise of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Didn’t like the second one quite as much – already had the premise down, so it was more action. I’m just now starting the third book of the trilogy.
